Autumn Term Learning:

In English this term we will be writing non-chronological reports based on rocks and fossils. The children will learn the different features of a report and include these in their own writing. In SfA we will read a range of texts both fiction and non-fiction. The children will answer questions about the text practicing retrieval, inference and learning lots of new exciting vocabulary.

During Maths we will look at place value then move onto addition and subtraction. The children will learn both practical and written methods of completing equations.

Our History topic this term is ‘Stone Age to Iron Age’. The children will place the period accurately on a timeline, describe and understand what that period of time was like and be able to think critically using evidence from the past. In Geography we will look at the local area and identify human and physical features.

In Science we will learn about rocks and fossils. We will look at how they form and how rocks change. The children will also complete lots of fun and exciting experiment including making edible soil!
